We are thrilled to announce that TEXSTYLE has been awarded the prestigious Gold Award at the German Design Awards 2025 in the category Excellent Product Design – Home Textiles and Home Accessories!
The German Design Awards are the premium prize of the German Design Council. With its global scope and international appeal, it is one of the most prestigious awards in the design landscape across all industries.
The German Design Awards have been identifying key design trends, presenting them to a broad public and honoring them since 2012. With around 4,500 submissions each year from over 55 countries, the awards serve as a platform that highlights the role of design in shaping a sustainable future. The jury is composed of renowned design experts from 16 nationalities, representing business, education, science, and the design industry.
The Gold Award is the highest distinction awarded for an excellent, holistic and innovative product design, This recognition is a remarkable achievement for our team, our partners, and a testament to our commitment to excellence in upholstery furniture design.
Extraordinary submissions in product design, communication design, and architecture are honored annually. So, when we were nominated earlier this year, we saw it as an opportunity to give greater visibility to our high-performance and recycled designs: the TEXSTYLE Recycled In & Outdoor Collection.
Categories for a Broad Design Spectrum
In order to adequately reflect the diversity of our design culture, The German Design Awards are divided into the disciplines “Excellent Product Design”, “Excellent Communications Design” and “Excellent Architecture”. These cover all areas of everyday life. The “Gold” and “Winner” awards are presented in each category. The jury selects a maximum two “Gold” award winners per category.
The German Design Awards sets the highest standards for determining its award winners: In a nomination process, expert committees of the German Design Council invite only those products and communication design services to participate in the competition that demonstrably stand out due to their design quality. All awards are determined in a multi-stage judging process and during a two-day jury meeting.

Now more than ever, outstanding design can provide answers to the challenges of our time that focus on the impact of products and services on the planet and our society – through multi-perspective approaches, sustainable and circular design processes or resource- and environmentally friendly production. The German Design Awards have set themselves the goal of promoting the diverse transformation tasks of our time through design and providing orientation for others through outstanding examples.
Our Nomination: TEXSTYLE Recycled, In & Outdoor Performance
Since 2018, TEXSTYLE Recycled has brought to the market a wide range of designs using GRS (Global Recycled Standard)-certified yarns made from post-consumer plastic bottles. We continue to research and develop textures that are soft, durable, recycled and recyclable at the end of their long-life cycle, With the launch of TEXSTYLE In & Outdoor Performance, 2024 is another groundbreaking year.
TEXSTYLE Recycled and Solution dyed 100% polyester composition achieve the softness and cozy look of Indoor textures, with Outdoor fabrics higher performance to the elements, durability and resistance to fading. Solution-dyed polyester is designed with color infused directly into the fibers during manufacturing, ensuring strong resistance to UV rays, stains, and general wear. We add a C0 PFAS Free water repellent coating after weaving—ideal for outdoor patios, sunny rooms, and high-traffic commercial spaces like hotels and restaurants.
Solution dyed and recycled polyester textiles production process seems as well to be the best direction to our industry growing concern of designing with circular materials, reducing water and energy consumptions and C02 emissions. For the most precise data, we are conducting LCA analysis through our manufacturing capacities, that will continuously let us determine more detailed emissions, consumption, waste & overall environmental footprint.
Despite the common challenges of transparency and traceability in manufacturing in China, we are already able to provide GRS TC certification for MOQ orders in Afuera and Jardin ranges. By the end of this year, we will introduce a new brand, In & Outdoor Recycled Design, featuring a soft, natural look. We call it Luz.
